How a boss fight works

A world boss appears on the home screen with a timer. Everyone in your Creed can hit it, and every hit takes a slice of the gold it is guarding, so it is a race against the clock and against the boss's phases. Bring it down before the timer runs out and everyone who took part is paid. Whoever lands the killshot gets something extra.

Each boss expects a certain strength from you. Below that your hits do nothing, so build your citadel before you queue for the bigger ones.

The five bosses

They come in order of difficulty: Kravos the Savage, Arch-Magus Draziel, Ignis the Unchained, Seraphina the Betrayer and Malakor the God-Eater. Anyone can fight Kravos. Each of the others needs a stronger kingdom than the last, and each has phases with tricks of their own that you will learn the hard way.

Gold and caches

Gold is paid for every hit, so a Creed that hits often earns more than one that hits hard once. When a boss falls, the people who fought it have a chance at a cache, which opens into aether and sometimes a piece of gear. Tougher bosses guard better caches, and the best gear is rare for a reason.
